Blog #8

The movement that I will be situating myself in is called "The Water Project." This movement brings relief to communities around the world who suffer from a lack of access to clean and sanitary water. Clean water in underdeveloped communities is provided in sub- Sahara Africa where individuals are struggling to live a daily life do to the unsanitary water conditions they are living with.

The impression that I intend to make on American society is how privileged they are for the water they are provided with in the country compared to third world nations and communities. I want to transform perceptions of reality of those who are fortunate enough to have a glass of water everyday from their kitchen sink, and make them realize what their life may be like if they did not have accessibility to such a commodity.

I plan on transforming perceptions of reality of society in conveying the importance of clean drinking water through the rhetorical writing tactics of identification and polarization, both of which I worked with throughout the course of my initial essay for the semester. I will use identification in order to attempt to unite society to support the cause and want to donate and participate for the implementation of clean water wells and facilities in third world nations. I will further transform perceptions of reality through polarization, by comparing clean water nations such as America to the impoverished nations such as sub- Sahara Africa who do not have access to clean water, which will create the need for urgency in the implementation of clean water plants.

Lastly, I plan on creating a Prezi to convey "The Water Project" to society in an interactive and engaging way. Within the presentation, I plan on incorporating the identification tactic through various slides creating a sense of urgency, while being followed and supported with polarization of clean and dirty water nations. The polarization will be done through various examples of illnesses from dirty water, pictures, maps, statistics etc.
